As Austria’s second largest international film festival, the festival has become integral to the spring event highlights in Linz! At this festival, visitors are encouraged to look beyond Austria’s borders and consider issues centring on European lifestyles.

Over the six days of the festival, around 160 hand-picked feature films and documentaries from all over Europe are shown in the festival locations in the vicinity of the Moviemento cinema. These include numerous world premieres and internationally acclaimed films, which will be shown for the first time in Austria.The Local Artists element of the programme also makes space for films by local filmmakers.

The works, which all deal with contemporary and socio-political themes, handle a wide range of topics and highlight the diversity of Europe. An extensive supporting programme offers fascinating discussions, presentations and concerts.
